Alpine Roars into Goodwood’s 70th Anniversary
The 82nd Goodwood Members' Meeting roared into action this weekend with a truly spectacular tribute to a legendary marque: Alpine. As the lead automotive partner for the second successive year, Alpine kicked off the exclusive event in breathtaking fashion, celebrating its 70th anniversary with a historic parade of 70 iconic cars around the legendary Goodwood circuit.
An estimated 40,000 motorsport fans looked on in awe as this unique moving display unfolded, showcasing the rich racing and rallying DNA that has been at the heart of Alpine since its foundation in 1955 by Jean Rédélé. The parade wasn't just a static display; it was a vibrant, living timeline of Alpine's dedication to agility and lightness.
Representing decades of automotive excellence, the parade featured a stunning collection of models from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, including the timeless A110, the sleek A310, the powerful GTA, and the refined A610. These iconic machines, driven by proud owners who travelled from across the globe, provided a thrilling illustration of Alpine's enduring legacy.
But the celebration wasn't just about the past. Joining these legendary classics was the all-new, all-electric A290 hot hatch, the reigning 2025 Car of the Year winner, making its highly anticipated UK debut in right-hand drive form! This marked a significant moment, showcasing Alpine's exciting transition into the electric era while staying true to its core principles of agility and engaging driving dynamics. The parade also featured a sensational lineup of models from today's high-performance A110 range, bridging the gap between Alpine's illustrious history and its electrifying future.
Nicola Burnside, MD of Alpine Cars UK, perfectly captured the spirit of the event: “The Alpine parade was the perfect way to kick-start the Goodwood Members’ Meeting weekend and our 70th anniversary celebrations in the UK, linking our past to our present and underlining our race and rally DNA as we head into an electric era. It was an incredible sight to see so many historic Alpine racing cars and an unforgettable experience for the owners driving them.”
Adding to the excitement on the static display was the UK debut of the highly anticipated A110 R Ultime. This limited-edition, 345bhp ultra sports car is the sportiest and most exclusive Alpine Road car ever created, with only 110 examples being produced worldwide. Its staggering performance, including a 0 to 62 mph time of just 3.8 seconds, captivated the Goodwood Members.
Sports car enthusiasts also had the chance to savour the presence of the current A110 range, including the A110 R, A110 GT, and A110 S, alongside the groundbreaking new electric Alpine A290.
The historic parade of 70 Alpine cars provided an unforgettable start to the 82nd Goodwood Members' Meeting, perfectly embodying the brand's rich heritage and its exciting journey into the future of electric performance. It was a true celebration of 70 years of Alpine passion, innovation, and a relentless pursuit of driving pleasure.
